On March 31, Paul Gambrill, age 72, passed at Brandywine Hospital. Paul was raised by his parents, Geneva (Stull) Gambrill and Harry Brooks Gambrill, in Morton, PA. After graduating from Ridley High School in 1965. Paul joined the Navy and served during the Vietnam War aboard the USS Springfield. When he returned home, Paul attended Barber school and cut hair which had been his goal since he was 9 years old.
Upon moving to Chester County in 1983, he worked as a pressman at the Daily Local and Daily Times. He was also a warehouse supervisor at Safety Kleen in West Chester unitl his retirement when he returned to his first love, cutting hair.
Paul loved sports and played softball for the Frontier Saloon until he was almost 40. He was in a pool league and enjoyed any indoor and outdoor activities and games. Paul was married for 39 years and is survived by his wife, Paula, sisters Jeanne Edwards, wife of Ray, Nancy Ricks, Mary Kirkner, wife of Bob; and 2 brothers, Charles Gambrill, husband of Linda, and David Gambrill, husband of Kathy.
In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by brothers Harry Gambrill, husband of Shirley, and Harvey, husband of Virginia. He has many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and gre-great nieces and nephews.
Paul’s wonderful sense of humor and fun-loving spirit will be missed by all his family and friends and all that laugher that surrounded him.
Services will be conducted privately at the convenience of the family.
