Patricia C. "Pat" Wood

Patricia (“Pat”) C. Wood nee Brady, 75, of Downingtown, Pa. went home to the Lord on Friday, April 22, 2022, at her residence, with her loving family by her side.

Born in Bryn Mawr, Pa. on July 4, 1946, she was the daughter of the late John P. and Anna Brady nee D’Ignazio. Pat graduated from St. Katharine of Sienna in Wayne, Pa. with the class of 1964. She was employed by the Archdiocese of Philadelphia initially as the Coordinator of Religious Education for St. Joseph Parish in Downingtown and retired from St. Patrick Parish of Malvern, Pa. as the Director of Religious Education.

She joins her beloved son, Thomas (“Tommy”) David Wood, who predeceased her in 2005. She is survived by her loving husband, Richard (“Tom”) Wood of 58 years. She is also survived by daughter, Patricia Ann Zonetti of Downingtown and her granddaughter, Patricia Lee Wood, and daughter, Cynthia L. D’Alessandro and her husband, Guy, of Flanders, N.J., and her grandchildren, Daniella, Angelina, and Anthony. She also leaves behind her older sister, Ann Mullaney, wife of Joseph, and younger brothers, John P. Brady and Edward P. Brady, husband of Maureen, and nieces and nephews: Joseph, Ann Marie, Michael, Daniel, Kathleen, Matthew, and Spencer, and beloved cousins. Pat is missed by many devoted friends, colleagues, and religious education students.

Pat expressed her unwavering faith as a servant of God by dedicating her life to the Church and God’s children. She was everybody’s “Nanny,” a spiritual mentor, and a great listener. Always an optimist, she encouraged her family and friends to overcome struggle and shared in their joy in times of happiness.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, April 28, 2022, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s located at 332 Manor Avenue, Downingtown, Pa. 19335. There will be no visitation. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, 1107 Glenside Road, Downingtown, Pa. 19335.

In lieu of flowers, the family would greatly appreciate donations made in Pat’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. (Pat was allergic to flowers and does not want to sneeze her way into Heaven.)
