Patricia B. Voltz, a resident of Lima Estates in Media, PA died on Monday April, 18, 2022. She was born on July 12, 1931 in Johnstown, PA, the only child of Ned and Loretta Bender. After graduating from Seton Hill College in 1952, she married Philip S. Voltz and together they raised a family of six children: Becky Rosenberg (Tom Buglio), Hudson (Kathy), Barbara Merchant (Wick), Betsy Fitzpatrick (Marty), Philip (Janet), and Tim (Julia Knippen). She was a loving grandmother to Rachel, Katie, Jay, Ben, Joe, Sara, Zach, Megan, Chris and Jack, and a great-grandmother to Pierce, Sterling, Russell and Cleo.
Formerly of Drexel Hill, PA, Sarasota, FL and Hershey’s Mill, Pat enjoyed family, friends, bridge, golf, trivia and puzzles. She was active in the schools her children attended, and is a past president of Drexel Hill Junior High School Home & School Association. She read extensively, and enjoyed classical music, travel and Jeopardy (never call between 7 and 7:30 on a weeknight!). She was a member of Llanerch Country Club in Havertown and Palm Aire Country Club in Sarasota. After raising the family, she worked with her husband Phil at their family businesses: R Schadler Company, ThermoTech Equipment and MDS Supply.
Pat moved to Lima Estates in 2013 where she became actively involved in bridge, Wii Bowling, Trivia Contests and many other activities. In 2017 she competed on the ACTS Trivia team, traveling to another ACTS property in Maryland and bringing home a prize. She worked at the front desk on weekends and contributed to her new community by preparing biographies of new residents in her building for their monthly magazine and organizing weekend desk duty.
She was a devout Catholic all her life and has been a member of St. Dorothy Parish in Drexel Hill and Saints Peter and Paul in West Chester. Pat was a cherished friend to many and an exemplary daughter, wife, mother and grandmother. She graced us all with her warm heart, quiet determination, outgoing personality, wit and wisdom. We were fortunate to have her as a guiding presence among us as long as we did.
