I am a bereaved parent. I lost my 18 year old daughter AMy in 2001. The only thing worse than losing a child is losing more than one child. I belong to a wonderful support group in Delaware County. We meet the first Monday of the month at Riddle Hospital. I am so sorry for your loss. If you want to attend the meetings, contact me and I will give you more info. Your children seemed so wonderful, it is such a tragic loss.

Condolences to Maggie and Paul for the loss of Miles and Charlotte. I was Miles' music teacher at Windsor Christian Academy and I remember him well. I also remember Charlotte in school with Maggie many times. So sorry for your loss and we will be praying for you.

Our whole family was shocked and saddened and our prayers go out to Maggie & Paul. Although we moved out-of-state in 2010, we have very fond memories of Miles and Charlotte. May you find some comfort in the happy memories you have of your wonderful children.

I knew Miles as that one weird, but funny guy who you could always rely on to make you laugh. I remember how he used to make the most killer sushi and how I was scared of his multitude of bees he kept. I send my sincerest regards to Mr. and Mrs. Hannagan and I hope both Miles and Charlotte have a great time wherever they are now.

Our family is so saddened to hear of the Hannagan's tremendous loss. My son Matthew had the distinct pleasure of being taught how to fly fish by Miles just last spring as part of earning a merit badge thru Boy Scouts. Although Matthew was a much younger Scout, Miles treated him as an equal. Miles showed such patience and dedication as he shared his vast knowledge and love of fishing, with proud dad Paul looking on. My son will always remember Miles as a great role model & Eagle Scout from Troop 220. Our prayers are with you Paul & Maggie.

Gene & I have a fond memory of Miles's Eagle Scout Project Fundraiser held at Applebees. WE had such fun & Miles spoiled us by serving us pancakes & coffee!
Such a happy event & we were so impressed that he would soon become a bee keeper!

Gene remembers meeting Maggie & the kids for the 1st time- as Maggie was pulling Charlotte & Miles in a wagon.

Our prayers and thoughts are with you & your family. We will always be here for you.

Enjoyed watching Miles during the scouting events. Very quiet and polite and very giving of his time. He was such an example and mentor to the younger scouts. Take pride in that Miles has affect many lives that he touched. Prayers for comfort.

Dear Maggie and Paul,
I can still see Miles as a baby and toddler playing with Logan during playdates, birthday parties and going on adventures together with the Mom's club. It was a special time. It was always so nice to see him over the years as he was growing up. He made such an impression on everyone at the Christmas party where he prepared an amazing sushi dish to share with everyone! You could tell he was being raised by some amazing parents who went above and beyond for their children. He was a very special young man who had already accomplished so much in his young life. We will remember the special times we shared with Miles always. Sending you love and strength now and forever,

The Hanning Family

Dear Maggie and Paul,
we want to embrace you with love because there are no words to express how we feel about your loss. You should know that so many people in our shared past like nursing mothers, La Leche League, Windsor etc. have contacted each other and are heartbroken over this tragedy. We hope that you can feel that this community is trying to carry you through this in prayers, thoughts, words and deeds.
Miles' and Charlotte's love for this world from nature to music and social issues showed what wonderful parents you are.
We will forever remember your darling children,

Birgit and Don Werth with Fred, Jenn and Calvin

Miles was an upstanding person. My Son Carson Stewart attended the same scout troop as Miles. Miles would go above and beyond to teach others how to be proficient and confident. Miles has left a lasting impression on my son and myself.

He will be missed but forever remembered.

Miles was my student last semester in analytical chemistry lab. He was kind, gentle, responsible, and so careful about his work. He wanted a challenging special project, so he took on analyzing manganese in steel, a procedure that requires working with very strong acids and oxidizers. He cautiously, but methodically and successfully, completed his experiment. He quietly exemplified the best in a chemist and a gentleman.

I can't wrap my heart or head around what has happened. You are missed, Miles. We are here for your family.

Dear Maggie and Paul,

No words can begin to describe your immense loss and grief.

We will always cherish the many memories we have of Miles. Paul and Miles were instrumental in Philip's embrace of Troop 220. Miles didn't just welcome Philip, but as a kind-hearted Troop Guide he extended his welcome to many new scouts. As an Eagle Scout he continued to embody the spirit of Scouting.

We shared many memorable camping trips with Miles. Unforgettable was his introduction of the game of Cricket to the troop, his Sushi dinner in freezing rain, his love of Marmite and his favorite hammock-tent. Miles was also indispensable around the campfire. His disregard of winter weather in his choice of clothing was legendary!

Miles will always live on in our hearts. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family.

It's hard for me to believe that I'm writing this. Miles and Charlotte were such amazing young people - far too young to be taken from us. I'm so lucky to have been able to get to know them both. Miles, with his quiet wit and a smile that lit up any room - Charlotte with her quiet manner but a heart that spoke volumes. They were really quite special. They will be deeply missed by the Washington Memorial Pipe Band family and everyone else who was privileged to know them.

Our deepest condolences and prayers to Paul, Maggie, family and friends.

Paul and Maggie,

Miles' Eagle court of honor was the first that our family attended. It was so touching, seeing him stand up there smiling with his family proudly looking on. Miles had such a warm smile, I can picture it now.

We are so very, very sorry that you are enduring this pain. Miles and Charlotte were talented and wonderful people who were a blessing to this world. God has a greater plan for them that is so very sad for the rest of us, devastating for you.

Thank you for letting us be a part of Miles' scouting accomplishments and for the opportunity to meet Charlotte. Our deepest sympathies and God Bless you both.
