Michael Darrow Ruggirello of Exton
Michael Darrow Ruggirello, 84, of Exton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at Exton Senior Living, surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Frances M. Mach Ruggirello, with whom he shared 60 years of marriage.
Born in Detroit, Michigan, he was the son of the late Michael and Margaret Moreland Ruggirello.
Michael worked for Neutronics, Inc. for 25 years, retiring as a Production Manager in 2000. He had a great sense of humor and thoroughly enjoyed a practical joke. He enjoyed deer hunting, scuba diving, golfing and woodworking. Michael was a very active volunteer in his former parish St. Peter's Catholic Church in Elizabethtown.
Michael served his country proudly in the Korean war, he was a Gunner's Mate on the Navy Destroyer USS William R. Rush from 1953-1956.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Michele S. Fishman, Cynthia A. Ruggirello (Jeff Wynne), Tracy L. Patton, Daniel V. Ruggirello (Tina) and Christy M. Dunlap (Keith); a daughter-in-law, Ruth Ruggirello; a brother, James Ruggirello (Jackie); a sister, Mary Lou Alexander; 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sons, Michael J. and Stephen Ruggirello; a brother, Lou Cleveland and a sister, Glen Rose Maul.
An evening viewing will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown.
A morning viewing will be held from 9:30-10:30 a.m., followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at St. Peter Church, 2835 Manor Road, Coatesville.
Interment will be private with the family.
