Mary Elizabeth “Nanny” Hannan, 67, passed away in the evening on Monday, April 5, 2021 at Brandywine Hospital surrounded by her family.  Mary married her high school sweetheart, Leo J. Hannan, after a whirlwind romance of 47 years which started with a simple note in the 7th grade class’ Get Well Card telling her “Don’t hurry back. School stinks.”

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late James A. and Elizabeth Riley Morini. She attended the Ascension Catholic School and Little Flower High School before attending the IV Technician Program at Temple University Hospital. She worked as an IV Technician at Temple University Hospital until choosing to stay at home to raise their growing family.   As teenagers, Mary and Leo loved going down the Shore and continued that tradition visiting Sea Isle almost every summer with her entire family.

When she wasn’t using Amazon to further her full-time occupation of spoiling her grandchildren, Mary was listening to all genres of music, reading, tackling sewing or crochet projects or laughing at MeTV’s Svengoolie with the love of her life and any family visitor who would watch. She is survived by her impressive missive writer, Leo, and her five children: Amanda Elizabeth Hudson (Richard), Leo Thomas Hannan (Nicola Jane), Sarah Elizabeth Hannan (Scott Cirka), Joshua Leo Hannan (Tara Colleen), and Jessica Elizabeth Hannan (Nathaniel Harlow).  She is also a cherished grandmother to her seven grandchildren: Madison Elizabeth Hudson, Michael Warden Hudson, Finlay Leo Hannan, Benjamin David Hannan, Jamie William Hannan, Alice Elizabeth Hannan and Sloane Elizabeth Cirka.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 9, 2021 at St. Peter Church, 2835 Manor Road, Coatesville.  Family and friends will be received from 10:00-10:45 a.m.

Interment will be immediately following in All Souls Cemetery, Coatesville.
