Mary L. Walk

Mary Louise Walk, 54, of Chester Springs, passed away Thursday, June 6, 2019 after a 12 year courageous battle with cancer. The daughter of Aldo Polastri and Ann McGuigan, Mary was the loving wife to Karl “Kip” Walk, whom she shared 29 years of marriage and friendship. Mary was also an amazing mother to her three children, Taylor, Erin and Thomas.

Mary graduated with a Masters of Social Work from Tulane University and dedicated her career to helping others working in family preservation, adoption, trauma social work and most recently with Neighborhood Hospice. She enjoyed gardening, travel, home decorating and renovation and simply spending time with her friends and family. Mary loved dogs, rescuing seven over the years. Mary recently traveled to Italy to visit the Vatican, achieving a lifelong goal. One of her favorite pastimes was spending the weekends in St Michaels, Maryland where she owned a beautifully renovated 1890 home. Above all else, Mary’s children were her greatest joy. Through her loving guidance and constant support, Mary provided guidance in challenging times and inspiration for their successes.    
 
In addition to her husband and mother, Mary is survived by her two daughters; Taylor and Erin, and her son Thomas, along with her sisters, Sheila Labarbera, Jennifer Charron and brothers, Stephen Polastri and Paul Polastri.  

An evening visitation for Mary will be held on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Ave. Downingtown, PA 19335. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, June 12, 2019, 10am, at Saint Elizabeth Church 120 St Elizabeth Dr, Chester Springs, PA 19425 with a visitation prior from 8:30am-9:45am. Interment will be private.
