Mary Syx

Mary Syx, 68, of Coatesville, passed away on Friday, June 17, 2022 at home with her loving family by her side. She was the wife of the late Dale M. Syx, who passed away in 2018.

Born in Downingtown on April 6, 1954, she was the daughter of the late William Rusden and Mary (Gumper) Waldman. Before becoming a mom herself, Mary was like a mother to her siblings, wherever she went, they weren’t far behind. She was always one to put the needs of others before herself. Throughout her life, Mary had multiple careers, such as working as a teacher’s aide for Special Education students, envelope packing, and finally an Administrative Assistant with uFinancial Group. While she enjoyed many things, particularly flowers and birds, you would most likely find her sneaking off to casinos to play the slots but above all, Mary loved spending time with her family and friends.

Surviving are her children Christine Syx (John Perry, Jr.), Scott Syx and Alicia Syx; grandson John Perry III; siblings William “Billy” Rusden (Justin Owens), Michael “Mickey” Rusden (Heather), Betty Jean Toppi (Bob) and Louann Nanashko (Mike).

A private Memorial Lunch will be held for members of Mary’s extended family.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mary’s memory to Save the Children.
