Mary M. Schumann, 94, of Audubon, passed away on Sunday, May 14, 2017 at Shannondell.
She was the beloved wife of the late Alfred G. "Duke" Schumann, with whom she shared 54 years of marriage at the time of his passing in 2007.
Born and raised in Philadelphia, Mary was the daughter of the late John J. and Anna C. (nee Hayes) McCarron and a graduate of John W. Hallahan Catholic Girls High School in Center City.
Mary was a former member of St. Pius X in Broomall where she was active in their church and school. She also volunteered at Cardinal O'Hara High School.
Having been a resident at Shannondell for fourteen years, Mary was a current member of St. Teresa of Avila Church in Norristown.
She loved spending time with her family and had great pride and joy in her grand and great grandkids.
Mrs. Schumann is survived by her children, Michael Schumann (Patti) of Spring City, Kathy Coyle (Jim) of Broomall, Mark Schumann (Carolyn) of Ambler, and Patty Knecht (Duane) of Downingtown; in-law's, Walter (Paula) Schumann of King of Prussia, Lillian Pedlico of Upper Darby, and Marlene “Tiny” Schumann of Lower Merion; seven grand and two great-grandchildren.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10 am on Friday, May 19th at St. Teresa of Avila Church, 1260 S. Trooper Road, Audubon, where family and friends may visit from 9 to 9:45 am.
Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holiday Hope Chest, 512 Buttonwood Dr., Downingtown, PA 19335.
