Mary C. Lesch

Mary Catherine (Wolf) Lesch of West Chester, PA…born February 19, 1929, passed away peacefully Sunday (Mother’s Day) May 10, 2020 after a long battle with ovarian cancer at the age of 91.

Mary was a devout catholic and, went home to her Lord and Savior and, to her beloved husband of 54-years, Richard.  She was a very special woman who always was willing to help others…especially those that she held close to her heart.  She unselfishly took care of her father and, her husband Richard for years who both needed special care at the same time.  How she was able to juggle both was some feat.  Her father lived in Clifton, NJ as she and Richard lived in Toms River, NJ.  They traveled back and forth up to three times per week for several years to care for her ailing father.  Richard would accompany her on every one of those trips with Mary doing all the driving.  What made this so special was that Mary logged over 500-miles per week through her early 70’s until her father passed in 2000.

Mary grew up in Clifton, NJ and, graduated from Clifton High School.  She married the love of her life on October 8, 1949.  They spent 54 years together before Richard passed away in June of 2004.  Having raised three sons together in Fair Lawn, NJ, they moved to Toms River in 1994 after she retired from a 12-year career as an Executive Assistant at Manhattan Industries (apparel distributor).  In order to be closer to her sons and, grandchildren, she re-located to West Chester, PA so she could attend her family’s activities.  Mary never missed a birthday, a holiday celebration, an anniversary, a birth of one of her grandchildren and/or great grandchildren.

Mary was the daughter of George and Anna Gisela (Klepeis) Wolf and, had a younger sister Catherine E. Vanecek.  She is survived by her three boys: Bob (Ellie), Rick (Susan) and Mark (Mary).  Mary has eight grandchildren: Kelly (Derek) Smith, Kevin (Michelle) Lesch , Michael (Hannah) Lesch, Mark (Nicole) Lesch, Keith (Meg) Lesch, Zachary Lesch, Lauren Lesch and Luke Lesch.  She also has nine great grandchildren:  Tyler, Emerson and Julia Smith; Ryan, Abigail, Edward, Kate, Cameron and Davis Lesch with one more “on the way”.  She is also survived by her three nieces Debra (Franco) Guerriero, Joanne (John) Petronchak and, Patricia (Charles) Fierro.

Due to the current pandemic situation, funeral services will be held at an unknown future date and time.  In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mary may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN  38105.
