Mark James MacCrory, 41, of Pottstown, passed away suddenly on July 9, 2021.
Born in Darby, PA on July 12, 1979, he was the beloved son of Regina (Vernold) MacCrory of Downingtown and James E. MacCrory, Jr. of Alabama. Mark graduated from Downingtown High School, and was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps. Mark was a police officer, working for several areas including Kennett, Malvern, Spring City, and West Chester University. He also enjoyed his work in Security at Pottstown Hospital. Mark, affectionately known as Markie Cookie, Mook, Mookie and Leprechaun, was a goof. He always had a smile on his face and loved to make people laugh. Mark was very proud of his Irish and Scottish heritage. He enjoyed going to the gun range, playing video games and spending time with his family. He loved his cat, Honey, and his nieces and nephews meant the world to him. Mark had an impact on everyone he met, and he will be greatly missed.
Surviving in addition to his Mother and Father are his siblings Jean Marie MacCrory of Collingdale, PA, James E. MacCrory III, husband of Jennifer, of Ridley Park, PA, Brian K. MacCrory, husband of Maria, of Wallingford, PA; nieces and nephews Kristine Brennan, Kayla MacCrory, Hannah MacCrory, Madison MacCrory, Arianna MacCrory, Lucero Figueroa, and Brian L. MacCrory; Aunt Robin Blanton and Uncle Jack Blanton; cousin John Blanton, husband of Andrea, and their children Finn, Kieran, and Silas; and many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by a nephew Robert Brennan.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 19, 2021 at 11 am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 332 Manor Avenue, Downingtown, PA 19335. Visitation will be held from 9 – 10:45 am at the church. Following mass, inurnment with military honors will take place at Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
