Margaret L. Walsh, 80, passed away the night of Sunday, September 6, 2020 at Hickory House Nursing Home. Born to the late Joseph and Mary Alves (nee Sullivan) in New Rochelle, New York, Margaret shared 42 years of marriage with her husband John T. Walsh until his passing in 2011.
Margaret worked for Emerson Electric and Branson Sonic Power while she lived in CT. After moving to PA she worked for Allen-Sherman-Hoff, Ash Handling Division until her retirement.
In the summer Margaret could be found working in her garden. When the weather turned cold, she turned to painting and crafting. Margaret was often called the purple lady she loved the color purple!
Margaret is survived by her children; Thomas Walsh (Marie) and Susan Brown (Larry); 4 grandchildren, Erica Moulton (Anthony), Timothy (Elane), Laura and Emma Walsh; as well as 3 great grandchildren Endora and Alexander Moulton and Evangeline Brown.
In addition to her parents, Margaret is preceded in death by her brother Joseph Alves and sister Jacqueline Alves.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday September 14, 2020, 10:30AM at Saint Peter Parish 2835 Manor Rd, Coatesville, PA 19320 with a visitation held prior at the church beginning at 10:00AM. All guests are required to wear a face covering and observe social distancing guidelines.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Margaret’s honor can be made to a Dementia/Alzheimer research charity of your choice.
