Louis A. Pizzi, Jr., 74, of Downingtown, passed away on Monday, December 10, 2018 at Brandywine Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Margaret L. Linder Pizzi, with whom they would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary next month.
Born in West Chester, he was the son of the late Louis A. Pizzi, Sr. and Dorothy M. Miller Pizzi.
Louis proudly served his Country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, where he was awarded a Purple Heart.
He worked as a tank cleaner for Matlack Systems for many years before retiring in 2007. Louis was a sports enthusiast, enjoyed collecting sports cards and watching all Philadelphia sports. He enjoyed drawing and took great pride in maintaining his lawn and property.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Jeremy D., Michael J., Lauren E. and Jeffrey A. Pizzi; a grandson, Nicolas Pizzi and by two sisters, Linda L. Stringer and Mary Jane (Robert) Dixon. He was predeceased by a son, Louis A. Pizzi, III; two brothers, Mario C. Pizzi and John Pizzi; and by a sister, Patricia A. Leonard.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 14, 2018 at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown. Family and friends will be received from 9:15-10:45 a.m.
Interment will be in Philadelphia Memorial Park, Frazer.
