Linda C. Baxter, age 66, of Thorndale, PA, passed away on November 1, 2018, at Neighborhood Hospice.
Linda was born in Portsmouth, VA, to the late Merle and Margaret Hove.
In 1969, Linda graduated from Coatesville High School. She met the love of her life, Jacob D. Baxter III, and shared 50 years together. Linda and Jake raised their family first in Asmara, Ethiopia; Fort Meade, Maryland; and Augsburg, Germany during Jake's Army service before returning to Coatesville, PA.
Linda loved to visit her friends and loved ones (always making sure to plan an ice cream stop in every town). Linda and Jake took many trips to Cape May, New Jersey, where they enjoyed relaxing on the beach, going for walks, and dining at their favorite places. Linda was an avid reader, and made great memories with her book club, Adventures in Print, as well as with her chapter of the Red Hat Society. Linda attended Our Lady of the Rosary in Coatesville, Pa, where she was a member of the Ladies Sodality. Linda is remembered by all who knew her as a loving, giving presence in the lives of many, and she spent her life caring for others.
Linda is survived and missed by her husband Jacob, daughter Monica Baxter, son Dustin Baxter, 2 brothers Gary (Gina) and Brian (Sherrie) Hove, and 4 grandchildren; Caitlyn, Amber, Carley, and Tyler, daughter in law Andrea Baxter, and many loving extended family and friends.
For the past 17 years, Linda has served as nanny to two lovely girls, Audrey and Maggie, and their family, whom she loved very much.
Relatives and friends are invited to Linda’s Funeral Mass on Tuesday, November 6, at 10:30am, at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 80 S 17th Ave, Coatesville, PA 19320, where family and friends will be received from 9:30am-10:20am. Interment will be private.
