Karen was born in Philadelphia, PA on February 22, 1953 to Betty and Robert Orr, both deceased. She grew up in the town of Malvern with her four siblings, Billie Orr, Debbie Mobile, Bobby Orr Jr. and Bonnie Waltman. Her favorite memories with her siblings included playing in the woods, creeks and fields around their childhood home.
Karen and Jimmy wed on September 28, 1984 in Paoli, PA. They enjoyed a marriage filled with laughs and adventures. They fit together like puzzle pieces, each filling in the gaps of the other. They were both teammates and soul mates. Karen and Jim enjoyed raising and showing beagles. Karen loved animals, especially her award-winning beagles and CheChe the cat, whom she cared for diligently.
At 47 years old Karen earned her B.S. in Accounting from Immaculata University. She graduated summa cum laude in 2000.
Karen had two children, Jenna Campbell, 31, and James Girafalco Jr, 29. She loved them fiercely, with complete devotion and an excellent sense of humor. She was the perfect mom to Jenna and James, and effortlessly extended her motherly love to all the children in her life.
Karen had one, deeply beloved grandchild, Nolan, 2. “Bubbie” and his “Gigi” were best friends and spent their days together playing trains, eating chicken “nanas”, and following the recycling truck on pick-up day. She absolutely cherished the time she had with Nolan and it is an immeasurable comfort knowing the close bond they shared.
