June R. Pyle, 85, of Downingtown, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at St. Martha Manor. She was the beloved wife of the late Henry “Zeke” Pyle, with whom she shared 50 years of marriage prior to his passing in 2008.
Born in the Overbrook section of Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Charles K. and Eunice Chamberlain Rudderow.
She graduated from Overbrook High School in 1953. In addition to being a homemaker, she worked many different clerical jobs over the years including Thomas J McCaffrey Photography, church secretary at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Berwyn for 13 years and, finally, in retirement as a file clerk for Bentley Systems, incorporated in Exton, PA until she was 74.
June had a love for cooking and thoroughly enjoyed her dogs, doing crossword puzzles, playing bingo, listening to music and the occasional casino trip with her late husband. But her true devotion was to her family. She always wanted the best for everyone else before herself. Her selfless efforts made you feel loved on each birthday, holiday, and special occasion.
She is survived by her daughter, Whitney G. Aquilante; her son, Spencer M. Pyle and his husband George E. Lutz; a granddaughter, Brittney L. Pyle; four great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her son, Charles Henry Pyle and two brothers.
A public viewing will be held on Monday, March 8, 2021 from 3:00-5:00 p.m. at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown. Due to Covid restrictions, a private family funeral service will be held the following day.
