Joseph Francis Pomrink, III, 76, of Elverson, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 29, 2021 at St. Joseph Medical Center in Reading. He was the beloved husband of Grace Sharon Arena Pomrink, with whom he shared 52 years of marriage.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Joseph Francis Pomrink, Jr. and Mary Antoinette Veneziale Pomrink.
He graduated from Lansdale Catholic in 1962, and received an athletic scholarship for football from Pacific University in Oregon, where he graduated in 1966. Joseph and Sharon met as social workers before he began a 30 year career with Sun Oil Company. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and trips to the Canadian wilderness. With innate generosity he was always helping others, volunteering for Junior Achievement, coaching kids sports, and serving on the Elverson neighborhood watch. As guardian for his sister Catherine, he along with his sister Rosemary, were honored to be awarded as Outstanding Family of the Year by LifePath.
In addition to his wife, Joseph is survived by his sons, Joseph F. Pomrink, IV (Carlo) and Matthew D. Pomrink (Amy); two sisters, Rosemary French (Robert) and Catherine Pomrink and by two grandchildren, Madeline S. and Jackson J. Pomrink, and many other cherished family members and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 5, 2021 at St. Peter Church, 2835 Manor Road, Coatesville, Pa 19320. Family and friends will be received from 10:00-10:45 a.m.
Interment will be private with immediate family in Calvary Cemetery, Conshohocken.
