Joseph (Joe) Michael Munnelly passed away peacefully on August 30, 2021.  Joe was a loving husband to his wife of 33 years Kristen (Miller) and a devoted father to his three children, Kaitlin, Michael and Connor.  He is also survived by his brother, Ken (Jean Marie), his sister, Terrianne Humes (Jeff) and his sister-in-law, Anne.  He is predeceased by his parents, John and Theresa and his brother, Jack.  Joe was also loved by a large extended family he deeply cherished.

Joe was born on March 22, 1964, the youngest of four children, in Queens, New York.  His family moved to Nanuet, New York when Joe was seven years old.  He attended The Pennsylvania State University where he met the love of his life, Kristen, and became an avid Penn State football fan.  They were married in 1988 and began their life together in Exton, Pennsylvania.  Joe continued his education and received his Master of Business Administration from The University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business.  Joe’s greatest joy in life was being a father and spending time with his family.

Professionally, Joe was an esteemed partner with the accounting firms of Arthur Anderson LLP and KPMG LLP.  He was also a Vice President, Controller and Chief Accounting Officer for Unisys Corporation and a Senior Vice President, Controller and Chief Accounting Officer for Aramark Corporation.

In 2015, Joe suffered a debilitating stroke that changed his life dramatically.  Through it all, Joe remained loving, strong, resilient and kept his wonderful dry sense of humor.  During this time, Joe spent a great deal of quality time with his close friends and family.  Many thanks to all who supported Joe and the Munnelly family during this challenging time.

A viewing will be held at the James J. Terry Funeral Home at 736 East Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown, Pennsylvania on Monday September 6, 2021 between the hours of 5 PM and 7 PM.  A Mass of Christian burial will be held at Saint Elizabeth’s Catholic Church at 120 Saint Elizabeth Drive, Chester Springs, Pennsylvania on Tuesday September 7, 2021 at 10 AM.
