Joseph J. Mullen 89, of Chesterbrook, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 23, 2021 with his loving wife and daughter by his side. He was the beloved husband of Winfred “Winnie” E. Mullen, with whom he shared 64 years of marriage.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Patrick and Agnes B. Mullen.
Joe proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He earned a degree in Electrical Engineering from Drexel University and work at General Electric for 34 years as an Aerospace Engineer.
Joe enjoyed traveling especially loved wintering on Anna Maria Island, Florida. Where he enjoyed the occasional cocktail and the beautiful sunsets.
Joe also enjoyed a good game of golf, crossword puzzles and watching the Eagles and Phillies. He loved spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter Emily McKain and grandson Drew Decker.
In addition to his wife, Joe is survived by his four children, Linda McKain, Joanne Murphy, Cynthia Decker and Brian Mullen (Betty Ann Bachert); a sister Patricia Sears, seven grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two children, Kathleen and Matthew Mullen; two brothers, Thomas and John Mullen and by two sisters, Nancy Oswald and Mary Notarfrancesco.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 am, Saturday, September 18, 2021 at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown. Family and friends with be received from 9:00-10:15 am.
Interment will be private with immediate family.
