John Clayton Schroeder

John Clayton Schroeder "Clay", 66, of Malvern, passed away on Monday, February 3, 2020 at Paoli Hospital.  He was the beloved husband of Janice M. Patton Schroeder, with whom he shared 39 years of marriage.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Clayton R. and Elizabeth Summy Schroeder.

Clay’s warmth and sense of humor enriched the lives of all those around him.  His deep love for history and literature were passions he held dear.  A graduate of Wake Forest University, Clay retired from Nationwide Insurance and continued his longtime hobbies of bowling with his Sproul Lanes Team and golfing.  He treasured the lifelong friendships formed during the years spent playing in the Delco League as member of the Tinicum AC championship baseball team.  He was most proud of his 3 sons and the fine young men they have become through their many accomplishments and achievements in life. 

In addition to his wife, Clayton is survived by his children, Rick (Jennifer), Brian (Masha) and Mark; his grandson, Roman; three brothers, Curtis (Donna), Joel (Jane) and Jeffrey (Linda); and by his step-mother, Marian Schroeder.

Services will be private with the family.
