John Thomas O’Brien, 83, of Glenmoore, passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2022 at Chester County Hospital. He was the husband of the late Joyce M. O’Brien who passed away in 2014.

Born in Philadelphia on December 29, 1938, he was the son of the late John Michael and Dorothy Mary (Stoudt) O’Brien. John graduated from Bok Technical High School in South Philadelphia, and was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He worked as a System Supervisor for Philadelphia Electric for 38 years, retiring in 1995. John was a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church. He was a talented woodworker, evident by the building of his own log home. He loved history and movies, and enjoyed fishing and cooking. 

Surviving is his son Thomas D. O’Brien, Sr. (Shanon), step-sons Steven Eversmeyer (Annie), Jeffrey Eversmeyer (Amy), Dennis Eversmeyer (Erma) and Douglas Eversmeyer (Kate); grandson Tommy O’Brien, eleven additional grandchildren, several great grandchildren; nephews Roy Taylor, Jr. and David Taylor. He was preceded in death by his sister Dorothy Taylor and one grandchild.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 29, 2022 at 11 am at Hopewell United Methodist Church, 852 Hopewell Road, Downingtown, PA 19335. Viewing will be held from 10 am – 11 am prior to the service at the church. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family.
