John "Jack" Hall Sr., 82 of Glenmoore, passesd away on Monday November 26, 2018.
Jack was born in West Chester, PA to the late William W. Hall Jr. and the Elizabeth (nee Gale) Hall.
Jack was a 1955 graduate of Downingtown High School and a proud member of the Future Farmers of America.
As a young man Jack worked for several local farms bailing hay as well as a mechanic in an auto garage.
Jack owned and operated a trucking business for more than 40 years. During his retirement he worked as a driver and mechanic for a couple of local businesses.
He was a member of the Free Masons, and served as Post Master of the Mount Pickering Lodge #446 Upper Uwchland, PA, 32 Degree member of the Reading Lodge of Perfection and Raja Shrine, Reading PA.
Jack was a leader and stayed active with the Boy Scouts of America and he coached little league baseball.
Amongst many hobbies, Jack had a passion for restoring antique farm tractors and competing in tractor pulls at shows with his friends. He enjoyed car races and watching the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles.
Jack cherished the time he spent with family and friends; especially camping trips with his wife, and attending his grandchildren's sporting events.
In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by his beloved wife Alice S. Hall, who passed away in 2014, and 5 siblings.
He is survived by children; Jayne H. Shea (Raymond), Karen H. DeMarco (Anthony), John T. Hall, Jr. (Jennifer), and Rebecca A. Edwards (Damon), grandchildren, Jaclyn S. McCabe(Thomas), Jared, Anthony, Jr., John Vincent, Hayden, Julianna, Dale, Mazie, Jack, and Lee, 1 great granddaughter Elizabeth McCabe; siblings Betty Hutchinson (Bert), Margaret Bond (James), William W. Hall III(Marian), Ruth Nocella, and a wonderful group of devoted friends.
An evening visitation will be held on Thursday, November 29, 2018, 6-8PM, Masonic Service at 7:45PM, at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown, PA 19335, and on Friday morning, November 30, 9am-10:20am, followed by a 10:30am funeral service. Interment will follow to Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery, West Chester, PA 19380.
