John W. Morgan
September 1, 1959 ~ February 7, 2024 (age 64) 64 Years Old
John W. Morgan, 64, of Chester Springs, Pa., passed away suddenly on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at Paoli Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Susan Rae Scancella Morgan, with whom he shared 42 years of marriage.
Born in Welch, West Virginia, he was the son of the late John Kay Morgan and Avelee Stoneman Morgan.
He graduated from Welch High School in 1977 and received his bachelors and master’s degrees from West Virginia University.
John was intelligent and curious with a great sense of humor, and read voraciously on all sorts of topics. While working as a database architect, he loved to travel to new places, including California, Cape Cod, Montana, England, New Orleans and Puerto Rico. He had a deep passion for independent music, film and television, and enjoyed popcorn movies as much as art cinema. John and Sue were known to travel miles just to see a B-grade horror movie. John took pride in the fact that he watched The Blob several times in the Colonial Theater, the very theater the Blob ate in the movie. (He even sat in the balcony!)
He may not have always been the most patient person, but strove to be empathetic to everyone.
John will be missed.
In addition to his wife, John is survived by his son, Scott Alan Morgan; a brother, James Sigler and his wife Linda; and by two nieces, Trina Birchard and Collette Hawes. He was predeceased by a brother, Ernie Sigler.
