John (Jack) Kenton Christian, 93, of Potomac, MD, passed away on Monday, January 11, 2020, at Brandywine Hospital, Coatesville, PA.
Jack was born in Nokomis, IL, and was the son of the late Benjamin R. and Ruth A. Christian, and the beloved husband of Marjorie A. (Pollock) Christian. The couple shared 63 years of marriage.
Jack was in the Army Air Corps from 1945 to 1949, and then graduated from Boston University, majoring in communications. He had a long career in publishing and included lengthy stays in marketing and sales at U.S.News and World Report, National League of Cities, and the Marine publication, Leatherneck.
His wife, Marjorie, and Jack loved to travel. In addition to many trips to California and Hawaii, other notable destinations included Europe, Scandinavia, the Middle East, and China. They were very active members of the Congressional Country Club in Potomac, MD.
In addition to his wife, Jack is survived by three sons: Jefrey Christian, husband of Eileen, of Coatesville, PA, Dwane Christian of Falmouth, ME, and Kevin Christian of Waikoloa, HI. He is also survived by a brother, Lynn A. Christian, husband of Carol, of Ashburn, VA. Eight grandchildren have been a joy in his life, along with one great-grandchild, Evangeline.
Services will be held privately.
