Janet B. Wengrin

Janet Burns Wengrin 92, Honey Brook, formerly of Downingtown went to be with our Lord on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at the Tel Hai Retirement Community.  She was the
widow of Michael Wengrin Jr. who died in 1984.

Born in Carbondale, PA, the daughter of the late James and Mary Laggner Burns, she was a graduate of St. Rose High School, Carbondale. After graduation she became a
baby nurse and worked for several families.  After getting married and moving to Downingtown she worked as a waitress.  She worked at Dick Thomas’s Drive-In restaurant in Exton for many years.  She also waitressed at Ingleside Diner, Thorndale, Georgio’s in Downingtown and a few others.

She is survived by a son Michael Wengrin, III of Downingtown, a daughter Carol Barr of Denver, PA, her husband David, 2 grandchildren, Trevor, Florida, and Jamie, Ephrata, PA and 3 great grandchildren, Logan, Landon and Paisley.

She was also preceded in death by sisters, Sarah Flynn and Alice Eltz and a brother, Edward J. Burns.

Janet was a member of St. Joseph’s Church in Downingtown.  Janet enjoyed playing cards, bingo, jewelry making and loved the opportunity to see her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed going to the Downingtown Senior Center when she was able.

The funeral will be private.
