Jane A. Adamchuk

Jane A. Adamchuk, a resident of Freedom Village Brandywine, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 27, 2018 from complications of a brain tumor after many years of successfully battling the disease.

She was predeceased in death by her parents Mary Nestell (nee D’Antonio) and Robert Nestell.

She is survived by her husband Mark with whom she recently celebrated 45 years of marriage and their daughter Jennifer.

Jane was born in Boston, MA and grew up in Framingham, MA.  She earned a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry at Northeastern University in Boston, MA and was employed at Dennison Mfg Company first as a co-op student and then as a Chemist in the paper coatings group.  She later served as a Teacher’s Aide in the West Chester, PA school system. 

Jane will be remembered for her outgoing personality, compassion and sense of humor.  Family was very important to Jane and she was especially proud of daughter Jennifer.  She loved animals and had two yorkies as companions over the course of thirty years that she spoiled and adored.

Always willing to lend a hand to those in need, she gave selflessly of her time. She was a volunteer with several organizations including Aid for Friends and Compeer of Chester County. Jane was active at church where she participated in a variety of study and volunteer groups.  She helped make a difference in the lives of many people.

In her free time Jane enjoyed cooking, gardening and painting. She was a reluctant traveler but did enjoy family vacations to destinations throughout the US.  Her favorite places were Acadia National Park in Maine, Cape Cod in Massachusetts and Assateague National Seashore in Virginia. 

Special thanks to all of Jane’s wonderful caregivers over the past few years; particularly the “A Team” home care companions, the staff at Freedom Village Brandywine Skilled Nursing and the staff of Holisticare Hospice.

Jane's family will be receiving relatives and friends from 11 am to 12 noon on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Ave., Downingtown, where her memorial service will take place at 12 noon. Interment will be held privately for the family at a later date.
