James Michael Toolan, 89, of Exton, passed away on Tuesday, September 18, 2018. He was the beloved husband of the late Dolores G. Vogelsang Toolan, with whom he shared 55 years of marriage prior to her passing in 2010.
Born in Albany, New York, he was the son of the late Martin and Winifred Comer Toolan.
James proudly served his Country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was an avid sailor and yachtsman and a classic car enthusiast. He also enjoyed woodworking and carpentry.
He served as Senior Vice President for PSFS before taking his early retirement and then continued into Commercial Banking.
James is survived by his four children, Mark Toolan and his wife Janet, Barbara Smith, Steven Toolan and Matthew Toolan and his wife Khristian and two sisters, Sally Bradley and Patricia Donohue and her husband Joe. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Christy, Katie, Lauren, Jenny, Brian, Michael, Madison, Liam, Andrew, Nicholas and Ryan and by five great grandchildren, Aly, Meghan, Olivia, Maximus and Vaughn.
In addition to his wife, James was predeceased by a son, Christopher and three sisters, Mary Mullin, Joan Forster and Anna Toolan.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 24, 2018 at SS. Philip and James Church, 107 N. Ship Road, Exton.
Interment will be private with the family.
