James Peter Sacco

James Peter “Jim” Sacco, 76, of Coatesville, passed away on June 8, 2022. He was the loving husband of Jean F. (Ross) Sacco, sharing 54 years of marriage.

Born in Butler, PA on September 14, 1945, he was the son of the late Carl E. and Roberta J. (Hockenberry) Sacco. Jim graduated from Butler Area High School (’63), received his BS from the University of Pittsburgh (’67) and his MBA from West Chester University (’88). He went on to work for Lukens Steel, G.O. Carlson and Evraz Claymont Steel, retiring after 44 years. Jim was a past member of Caln Township Board of Commissioners, as well as the YMCA Board of Directors, Brandywine Branch. He enjoyed bowling, sailing on Marsh Creek and collecting rocks, gems and fossils.

Surviving in addition to his wife Jean are children Corinne P. News (John) and Eric K. Sacco; grandchildren Easton, Jack and Sydney; brothers C. Daniel Sacco and Darrell R. Sacco. He was preceded in death by brother Edward C. Sacco.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at 1 PM at James Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown, PA 19335. Viewing will be held from 11:45 AM – 12:45 PM. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Jim’s memory to the Wounded Warrior Project, or the American Heart Association.
