James F. Quinlan, age 79, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 22, 2024 at his home with his family by his side. He was the loving husband of Irene M. Quinlan nee Palumbo, sharing 52 years of marriage. James led a life marked by dedication, service and love.

Born in Philadelphia on September 9, 1944, he was the son of the late Edward J. and Catherine (O’Donnell) Quinlan. After graduating from St. Thomas Moore High School in 1963, Jim honorably served in the United States Air Force as a radio operator in Japan. He received the National Defense Service Medal and the Air Force Good Conduct Medal. His commitment to his country was paralleled only by his dedication to his family. Following his time in the service, Jim had a successful career in banking, officially retiring at the age of 70. He was an avid fan of baseball throughout his life, and his four boys remember fondly the Sunday day games at the Vet in Philly that he always found time for.

Surviving in addition to his beloved wife Irene are his children Michael J. Quinlan, Dr. John E. Quinlan and his wife Sirinda nee Pallahan, Daniel J. Quinlan and his wife Nicole nee McGuire, along with their children Collin and Brynn, and Dr. James T. Quinlan and his wife Erin, along with their children Ashley and Kaitlin. James was a guiding light in their lives, embodying the virtues of selflessness, integrity and kindness. In addition to his immediate family, James is survived by his siblings, Ed, Alice, Pete, and Tim, who will fondly remember him.
