James “Jim” Henry Davis, age 66, of Downingtown, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 21, 2019 in the comfort of his own home.
Jim was born in Pottstown, PA, to the late Donald and Nancy (Ancona) Davis.
Jim spent 40+ years as a proud truck driver known on the road as “Bear”. Jim was truly a jack of all trades, and known as “Mr. Fix It” to his family and friends. He was the most kind and giving person, and truly would sacrifice anything for his family. In his spare time, he loved fishing/hunting, ham radio, and spending time with his family. He had a real soft spot for animals especially dogs. He was a huge history buff, and even participated in WWII re-enactments. Although he had many hobbies, his favorite role was being a father and Poppop to his children and grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Jim is preceded in death by his late wife Anna Katherine (Downey) Davis with whom he spent 35 years of marriage..
Jim was the devoted father to three children; son Matthew, two daughters; Corie and Gillian Davis, 2 grandchildren; Gregory Tack Jr. and Aryanna “AJ” Tack, sister Sue Schmoyer, brother Chris Davis, many nephews and nieces, and loving extended family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to Jim’s Memorial Mass on Thursday, August 1, 2019, at 11am, at St. Joseph Church, 332 Manor Avenue, Downingtown, PA 19335. The family will receive guests from 10:15 - 10:45 am. Following church service’s will be a celebration of his life at Hibernia State Park, all are welcome and encouraged to bring a fishing rod and cast a line out for Jim.
