Jade Douglas Simmers, 50, of Mohnton, passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2022. He was the loving son of Carol A. (Ripka) Lukatch, wife of John, of West Chester and Douglas E. Simmers, husband of Cynthia, of Christiana.
Jade was born in West Chester on August 5, 1971. He graduated from Downingtown High School with the class of 1989, and went on to receive his Bachelor’s Degree from East Stroudsburg University. Jade currently worked as the Director of Risk Management for HMK Insurance – Alera Group. He was a dedicated and hard worker who will certainly be missed by his colleagues. Jade was also a member of Penn Wynn Men’s Club in Mohnton. He enjoyed fishing, could often be found reading a good book, and loved the mountains. His favorite place to go was the family cabin near Penn State. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his niece Lylah.
Surviving in addition to his parents is a brother Todd Michael Simmers of Parkesburg; niece Lylah Quinn Simmers-Feerrar; Grandmother Joan Simmers; step-sisters Lorie Kaplan (Matt) of Exton, Pam Wright (Darryl) of Wilmington, NC, Jennifer Gorman (Ryan) of Exton and Heather Newswanger of Downingtown; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at 11 am at James Terry Funeral Home, 736 E Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown, PA 19335. Visitation will be held from 9 am – 10:45 am prior to the service. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Coatesville.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Jade’s memory to the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation or the ASPCA.
