Howard Irving McGirk, Jr., 68, of Downingtown, passed away on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Home.

Born and raised in Downingtown, he was the son of Howard I. McGirk, Sr. of Downingtown and the late Beatrice M. (nee Hughes) McGirk.

Howard was a graduate of Downingtown High School and attended West Chester University.

Before his retirement in 2015, he worked for over 40 years as a Chrysler Parts Manager at numerous dealerships in the area; Town Motors, Lambert, Murray, David Dodge and Courtesy.

In his younger years, Howard owned and drag raced muscle cars at Maple Grove Raceway. He always had a love for sports, especially Phillies Baseball. He was also very good at cards and was an avid poker player.

In addition to his father, Howard is survived by his siblings, John (Terry) of Coatesville, David (Gina) of Lewis, Delaware, Chris of Downingtown, Jane Lewis (William) of Downingtown, and Penny Vaughn of Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts.

He was also predeceased by his sister, Linda Heston.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 31st from 9:30 to 10:45 am at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Ave., Downingtown, followed by a service at 11 am.

Interment will be in Hopewell United Methodist Cemetery, East Brandywine.
