Howard Irving McGirk Sr.

Howard Irving McGirk Sr., age 93, of Downingtown, PA, passed away on December 17, 2018, at the Embrace Hospice House, Myrtle Beach, SC.

Howard was born and raised in Downingtown, PA, growing up in the same house, and raised his family in the same home on Hopewell Road.  Howard had a working farm raising livestock and grew crops to feed them as well as a career as a crane operator and foreman at Beliot Eastern in Downingtown, Pa.

In addition to his parents, the late Harvey and Jaleslie McGirk, Howard is preceded in death by his wife Beatrice May McGirk, daughter Linda Heston, son Howard McGirk Jr., and 3 brothers.

Howard is survived and missed by his children, John (Theresa), David (Gina), Jane Lewis (Bill), Penny Vaughn, and Chris McGirk, 9 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and 1 great granddaughter.

Relatives and friends are invited to Howard’s funeral service at 2:30PM, on Thursday, December 27, 2018, at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown, PA 19335, where family and friends will be received from 1:30-2:15PM. Burial will follow to Hopewell United Methodist Cemetery, Downingtown, PA.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the James J. Terry Funeral Home to help lessen the funeral financial burden on the McGirk family.
