Tribute

Our beloved Glenn Harold Basehore, 95 years young, was welcomed into heaven on June 24, 2020. He died of natural causes.
He was the husband of two fantastic women. Mary Louise Basehore (Deceased October 2018, 27 years of happiness) and Mildred Louise Basehore (Deceased September 7, 1984, 39 years of happiness).

Glenn was born, at home, in Harrisburg, PA on July 27, 1924.
He graduated from John Harris High School in 1942, where he was an accomplished basketball player. Glenn served in the US Marines Corps from 1943 to 1946 achieving the rank of Sergeant. He was a very proud Marine. He was employed and retired from Hormel Foods Corporation for 39 years. Retiring as the Eastern Regional Sales Manager.

He was a founding member of Grace Covenant Church and a faithful member and Elder for 47 years at Central Presbyterian Church. He was a member of the Whitford Country Club for 55 years, serving as Club President and Greens Chairman. He was an active member of Toastmasters International. He volunteered for the United Way and the Lords Pantry in Oxford in addition to other charitable causes.

Glenn enjoyed playing golf, traveling, gardening, reading and most of all spending time with his family.

He is predeceased by his brothers Russell, Paul, Norman, Robert and sister Esther. 

He is survived by his children Thomas L. Basehore (Maureen), Terry R. Basehore (Patience), Marcia L. Basehore, step-children William Chalfont Jr. (Eileen) and Sally Manley (James); eight grandchildren: Thomas, Kyle and Griffith Basehore, Millie Moessner, Paul and David Manley, and Jonathan and Andrew Chalfont; and one great-grandchild Thomas Basehore III.

Interment will be private at Northwood Cemetery.

A Celebration of Life service will be scheduled soon please check the website for updates.
