Geraldine “Gerry” L. (Willis) O’Fria, 68, of Downingtown, passed away on Sunday, February 28, 2021.

Born and raised in Philadelphia, Gerry was the daughter of the late Emory Willis and Cecelia Latchford (Sweeney). She was the beloved wife of Joseph A. O’Fria, Jr. with whom she shared 42 loving years of marriage.

Gerry dedicated 35 years of her life to not only raising her own children, but she also fulfilled a “grandmother” role to countless children by providing in home childcare. More importantly she cherished her own grandchildren, who she was so proud of. All who knew her appreciated her zest for life, her enthusiasm for music, her abundant hospitality, and her willingness to get the job done; never taking no for an answer. She made friends wherever she went, no one was a stranger. We cannot forget her love of the Philly Phanatic! She shared in her family’s passion for the classic car hobby and as such, was a founding member of Top Dead Center Motor Club. In addition, she was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Lionville.

In addition to her husband, Gerry is survived by her sons: Joseph A. O’Fria III, partner of Christopher, of West Chester, and Jason M. O’Fria, husband of Danielle, of Downingtown; a sister: Sarah Esposito; grandchildren: Dominic and Lena.

In addition to her parents, Gerry was preceded in death by her brother: William “Bill” Willis.

A public visitation will be held on Saturday, March 6th at James J. Terry Funeral Home Coatesville: 1060 W. Lincoln Highway, Coatesville PA 19320 from 10:30-12. It is kindly requested that all guests wear face coverings and practice social distancing. Due to Covid restrictions, services will be conducted privately. However, a live-stream of the service will be available on Saturday, March 6th starting at 12:10 on this page.
