George John Ott

George John Ott, 87, of Downingtown, passed away on Thursday, July 15, 2021 at Paoli Hospital. Sharing 35 years of marriage, he was the loving husband of Nancy E. (Prewett) Ott, who passed away in 2016.

Born on the family farm in Williamstown, NJ on September 3, 1933, he was the son of the late Michael and Marie (Walter) Ott. George worked as a mechanic at his brother Mike’s gas station. He also worked for ACME Markets as a Produce Manager. He loved antique cars and visiting car shows. He always enjoyed going out to eat, and especially loved spending time with family, and dog Maxie, his little princess. George will be remembered for his love of naps, hummingbirds, how he watched the deer, and often updated his family with the latest news events.

Surviving are his children Pat (Daniel) Magee, Barbara Ballinger, Debbie (Herb) Cunningham, Judie (Jim) Ballinger, Tammy (Dennis) Hannum, Jim (Amber) Grogg, Shannon Grogg and Laurie (Nick) Patullo; 18 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and a sister Marie Marzili. He was preceded in death by siblings Michael Ott, Francis Ott, Albert Ott, Anna Ott, and Margaret Ott.

Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation Sunday, July 18, 2021 from 1-3 PM at James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown, PA 19335. A service will follow at 3 PM. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of George to the Meals on Wheels of Chester County, 404 Willowbrook Lane, West Chester, PA 19382.
