Ernest W. “Ernie” Frombach, passed away peacefully at his home in Lionville on January 8, 2020 at the age of 90.
An award winning artist who graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Ernie taught art in the Johnstown public schools, later moving to Mansfield where he became an art professor at Mansfield University from 1968-1989.
After relocating to Chester County in 1990 to be closer to family, Ernie joined the Chester County Art Association where he continued to share his artistic talent with others.
Ernie was also a talented golfer and enjoyed playing the game with his three grandsons and the Paoli Forecallers, a group of seniors who shared his passion for golf.
Ernie was born February 21, 1929 in Johnstown to George and Caroline Frombach. Survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Mary Louise (nee Roser); daughter, Cynthia, wife of James Rutenbar; and three grandsons, Eric (Christina), Matthew and Evan. He is also survived by his sister, Betty Lentz of Johnstown and several nieces and nephews.
Ernie's family will be receiving relative and friends from 1 to 1:45 pm on Saturday, January 11th at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown, followed by his memorial service at 2 pm.
