It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Edward “Buddy” R. DiLuigi, 90, of Downingtown, who passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by family on Saturday, August 8, 2020.

He was the beloved husband of Anne L. (Mingione) DiLuigi. The couple shared 67 years of marriage. Born and raised in Downingtown, he was the son of the late Antonio and Delseda “Dolly” (Cortelessa) DiLuigi.  Edward was a 1948 graduate of Downingtown High School, and served in the United States Navy (1951-1954).  He went on to work at the Davey Company and Sonoco Paper Mill until his retirement in 1992.

Edward was a devout member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. He was a lifetime member and former president of St. Anthony’s Lodge. He was an avid Phillies and Eagles fan. He also enjoyed gardening, tinkering in his workshop, and golfing. He was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

In addition to his wife, Edward is survived by his children: Ellen (widow of James Pennington) of Lititz; Mark DiLuigi (Joanne) of Lansdale; Tina (widow of Jeffrey Lynam) of Adamstown; Eric DiLuigi (Lisa) of Downingtown; Darin DiLuigi (Dee Dee) of Downingtown, and Valerie DiLuigi of Downingtown. He is also survived by grandchildren Daria, Joseph, Laura, Erica, John, Talia, Lisa, Vincent, Cassia, Domenic and 9 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Edward was preceded in death by a brother, Anthony DiLuigi, and sister, Philomena DiLuigi Williams.

Due to the pandemic, funeral services will be conducted privately. However, a Mass of Christian Burial will be live-streamed on Friday, August 14, 2020 at 11 AM. You may view the live-stream by clicking on the link at the top of this page.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Edward’s name may be made to the charity of your choice.
