Edward Lloyd Brown, 86, of Downingtown, PA, formerly of Spokane, WA, Eugene, OR, Stockton, CA, New Carrollton, MD, and Olympia, WA, passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2021 at Arbor Terrace, Exton, PA.
Born in Spokane, WA, Edward was the son of the late Delbert and Melba Brown. He was the husband of Maxine Jeannine (Morlan) Brown, with whom he had shared 66 years of marriage.
Following high school, Edward served in the US Navy for 36 years and achieved the rank of Chief Warrant Officer (W4). He also had an extensive career with the USDA. Edward was a proud elder of the Spokane Tribes of Indians. He was a member of the Board of Directors at Delphi Country Club. He enjoyed gardening, music, golfing, making clocks, candles, wood burning crafts, fishing for salmon, and nature. He loved popcorn, ground cherries, and dining out. His love for the outdoors gave him the unique ability to name a wide variety of plants and animals. He often enjoyed excursions with his wife to rural and Amish countryside’s.
In addition to his wife, Edward is survived by his children: Rochelle (Shelly) Kater, wife of Christopher, of Springfield, VA, Elizabeth J. Brown of Columbia, MD, and Amy Phillips, wife of William, of Downingtown, PA. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and a brother, Fred Brown.
In addition to his parents, Edward was preceded in death by his sisters: Lillian, Freida, and Idella; grandson: Daniel.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 12 PM at James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Ave., Downingtown. A visitation will be held from 11 AM–12 PM at the funeral home. A link to the live-stream is available a the top of this page.
