Edna C. (Hurley) Plummer

Edna Colleen Plummer (Hurley), 88, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 4, 2021 surrounded by her loving family at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Glenna and Kevin Smith.

Born in Cecil County, Maryland, Edna was the daughter of the late Fred A. Hurley and Lucy M. Hurley of Downingtown, PA.  She was a 1950 graduate of Unionville High School.

She was the beloved wife of her late husband, Ford E. Plummer, with whom they shared 53 years of marriage at the time of his passing in 2006.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Wendy L. Plummer and her granddaughter, Brittany R. Taraschi. Edna was also predeceased by her brothers, Wayne Hurley and Elmer Hurley, sisters, Helen Fernandez and Glenna Adams. 

Edna is survived by her daughters, Donna Plummer and Glenna (Kevin) Smith of Honey Brook and 6 grandchildren, Tara (Sean) Moulder, Mandy (Harry) Ubele, Dominique (Justin) Fell, Richard Taraschi, Anna (Michael) Impriano and Dylan Smith.  Edna had 14 great grandchildren, Aliya, Brielle, JJ, Jaxon, Mia, Ella, Emmy, Isabelle, Brody, Vienna, Knox, Kaydence, Dominick and Rocco and 2 great, great, grandchildren, Brayden and Layla; all of whom she loved dearly and enjoyed every minute she could spend with them.  They made her smile!  Edna is also survived by many nieces and nephews that were all dear to her heart.

Outside of raising her family, Edna worked at Wyeth Laboratories as a Supervisor, retiring after 25 years and she was admired by many for her strong work ethic.  In her spare time, Edna was also a volunteer at the Beaver Creek Elementary School and a member of the Romansville United Methodist Church. 

Above all, Edna loved her family, a dedicated wife, mom and mom-mom.  She will be missed by all.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 9th at 2 PM at Downingtown United Methodist Church, 751 E. Lancaster Ave., Downingtown. A visitation will been held from 1-2 PM at the church. Interment will follow at Romansville United Methodist Church Cemetery.
