Donna Kay Griswold

Donna Kay Griswold, 76, of Downingtown, passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at Chester County Hospital.  She was the beloved wife of Glenn Griswold, with whom she shared 48 years of marriage.

Born in Coatesville, she was the daughter of the late Donald Keenan Armstrong and Hazel Welsh Armstrong and the step-daughter to the late Helen Daller Armstrong.

Donna resided in the Coatesville and Downingtown area most of her life.  She was employed as a kindergarten and first grade teacher with Downingtown Area School District since she graduated from West Chester State University.  She retired from Downingtown Area School District in 2006. Donna had a special ability to remain in touch with her young students watching them as their education progressed, even through their graduation from college.  She has since been employed as an Adjunct Professor at West Chester University overseeing Student Teachers, as a Supervisor.  

Her favorite pastime was with an organization called “The Glow”, where she was an administrator for their Facebook page.  The Glow is a Christmas organization specializing in Antique Christmas lighting and decorations.  Wherever Donna was, you could always find Christmas. 

In addition to her husband, Donna is survived by her son, Joshua W Griswold and his wife Raven Bosworth Griswold; her daughter, Devon Pratt Griswold Trimble and her husband DanielTrimble; four grandchildren, Finnegan and Kalligan Trimble and Waylon and Joslyn Griswold.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, June 3, 2022 at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown.  Family and friends will be received from 1:00-2:45 p.m.

Interment will be private with the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Susan G. Komen fight for Cancer.  An organization that was on Donna donated to regularly.  
 

In memory of Donna and her dedication to Downingtown Area School District,  If you wish, please bring a package of school supplies or new childrens book with you to the service.  We will be collecting items to donate to students in need in the Downingtown School District.
