Donald “Don” Roy Scott, 70, of Coatesville, passed away on Monday, December 4, 2017 at Neighborhood Hospice in West Chester.

He was the beloved husband of Laura Karen (nee May) Scott, with whom he shared 49 years of marriage.

Born in Lancaster, Don was the son of Elsie Jane (nee Davidson) Bleacher Scott of Coatesville and the late Roy Preston Scott.

He was a 1965 graduate of Pequea Valley High School and received his Associates Degree from Goldey-Beacom College in 1968.

Before his retirement, Don owned and operated Scott-Naumann , a paper broker firm. 

He was a member of the Williamson Lodge, No. 309 as a Free and Accepted Masons in Downingtown. He was involved with the Coatesville Football Boosters Club, Chester County Hawks AAU Baseball and the Downingtown Little League, where he had served as president. Don was a past president of Caln AA.

Don was a fan of High School sports and enjoyed watching the Eagles and Phillies.

In addition to his wife and mother, Mr. Scott is survived by his sons, Daniel and his wife, Bernadette, of Drexel Hill, Jeffery and his wife, Jessica, of Downingtown, and Andrew of Coatesville; brothers, Scott Bleacher; and seven grandchildren, Jeremy, Jeff, Joshua, Josephine, Zachary, Samantha, and Ryan.

He was also predeceased by his brother, George Scott.

A visitation will be held from 9:45 to 10:45 am on Friday, December 8th at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Ave., Downingtown, followed by a time of sharing at 11 am.
