Donald L. Sweigart

Donald Laverne Sweigart passed from this life into eternal life with our Heavenly Father on February 4th, 2019.  He fought a valiant fight with chronic health issues and is now at peace. He was born in Lancaster, PA, and was the son of the late Samuel Sweigart and Irene Althouse Weik.

Donald worked for 25 years as maintenance supervisor at the Sheraton, King of Prussia.

Donald was a talented, life-long carpenter who loved to build beautiful homes, and enjoyed working as a locksmith. He liked working on old mustangs, loved cats; and in particular (his babygirl “Precious”) who predeceased him. He was a faithful listener to the Jimmy Swaggart Ministries and deeply loved his songs of God's love and grace!

He is survived and missed by his son and two daughters, from his first marriage their 3 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren, the love of his life of 31 plus years and his traveling companion, Phyllis Christman, and her 5 children, 12 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren, and 1 brother Samuel Sweigart Jr. (Barbara).

He will be deeply missed by all until we meet again!

Relatives and friends are invited to Donald’s memorial service on Saturday, February 9, 2019, at 2pm, at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown, PA 19335, where family and friends will be received from 1-2pm. Interment private.
