Donald J. Schneeman

Donald John Schneeman, formerly of Croton-on-Hudson, NY and Highland Lakes, NJ has died in Coatesville, Pa. Born in Jamaica, NY, he was the fourth of five children of Charles and Grace.
Leading the Chaminarde High School debate team, Don twice won the New York State Championship in Oratory and Oratorical Declamation and represented New York in the national finals in 1947.
Don attended St Francis College and Queens College before enlisting in the Air Force in 1951. He was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant and worked as a radar observer. He married Annette in California in 1954, was discharged in 1955(at the rank of Captain) and graduated from Columbia Law School in 1958.
Don worked for Schindley Industry, then International Nickel Company, before joining The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) in 1964. At the AICPA, Don was Director of Professional Ethics before assuming his role as General Counsel and Secretary on the AICPA’s Board of Directors and Council from 1976 until his retirement in 1994.
Don is pre-deceased by his wife of 62 years, Annette, and his son, Donald Charles. He is survived by his daughters Tracy(Thomas), Grace and Laura(Justin) and seven grandchildren.
Donald’s funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2017, at St. Joseph’s Church, 460 Manor Ave, Downingtown, PA 19335. Visitation will be from 10:30AM-10:50AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM. Interment will be private.
