Chester J. Eagles Jr., 77, of Coatesville, passed away of the morning of January 5, 2020 at Reading Hospital.
He was the son of the late Chester J., Sr. and Vivian Horton Eagles.
Most people new Chester as “Jeep”. He could be found at the Wawa in Thorndale, Giant and ACME buying his scratch offs, lottery tickets and always talking, joking with the employees to get them to laugh. He also enjoyed taking trips to Delaware Park to play the slots.
He was a member of the United Steel Workers Union. He worked for 52 years at the steel mill. Started when it was Lukens Steel as an overhead crane operator and could turn a plate over on a dime from a mile up in the sky. Then ended those 52 years with Arcelor Mittal in their Paint/Maintenance shop. He had a very strong work ethic and was happy to work.
The thing that made him most happy was to make people smile. So our wish is that when you think of Chester, Chet, Jeep…just smile!
Chester is survived by his children, Chester J. Eagles III (significant other, Amanda Johnson), Tisha M. Spotts (fiancé, Charlie Jackson), Scott Eagles (wife, Kim); grandchildren, Chester J. Eagles IV (wife, Chrissy), Bradley Eagles (wife, Rachel), Todd Eagles (wife, Abbey) and Taylor Eagles (significant other, Steve); great grandchildren, Kailey Eagles, Brady Eagles and another beautiful angel on their way; and siblings, Tom Eagles and Patricia Albright.
