Charles William Dilley

Charles William Dilley, 62, of Downingtown, passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2019 at Chester County Hospital.  He was the beloved husband of Robin M. (Daily) Dilley, with whom he shared 15 years of marriage.

Born in West Chester, he was the son of the late Cecil E. Dilley, Sr. and Lorraine I. (Brower) Dilley.

Charles was an incredibly skilled carpenter, general contractor and custom builder. He enjoyed a successful career doing what he loved.  He enjoyed working hands on but was very skilled at managing others.  He found so much reward in bringing multimillion-dollar homes out of the ground and seeing them to completion. He is responsible for some of the most beautiful work in Chester County and on the Main Line. In his free time, he loved fishing, boating, riding his motorcycle and playing his electric guitar. He enjoyed reading and was a lover of science fiction and history.  One of his greatest passions was spending time with his beloved German Shepherds Thor and Gunnar.  More than anything, he loved the simple things in life and just being around his family whom he loved so dearly.

In addition to his wife, Charles is survived by his daughter, Crystal Taylor and her husband Kyle; his son, Christopher Dilley; a grandson, Zachary Taylor; three brothers, David Dilley, Edward (Sharon) Dilley and Cecil Jr. (Tami) Dilley; two sisters, Sharon (Lawrence) Fielding and Susan (Ronald) Couram and by numerous nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 12, 2019 at St. Peter Church, 2835 Manor Road, Coatesville.  Family and friends will be received from 9:00-10:30 a.m. at the church.

Interment will be in All Souls Cemetery, Coatesville.
