Charles "Charlie" A. Bandoian

Charles A. Bandoian, 79, of Downingtown, passed away peacefully at home the morning of Wednesday, September 23, 2020. Known as “Charlie” or “CAB” to his friends, he was born to the late Charles J. Bandoian and Lucine Talanian in 1941, Cambridge MA. He was the loving husband to Helen Kristine Bandoian (nee Pashigian) for 40 blessed years of marriage together.

Charlie earned his BS in Political Science from Tufts University where he was in the Zeta Psi fraternity, a master’s degree in geology from The University of New Mexico, and his PhD in Geology from Rutger’s University. Charlie was often quoted as saying he never wanted to leave college and seriously considered becoming a college professor. After FINALLY leaving academia Charlie began a career as a hydrogeologist with The Dames and Moore Group in Chicago. Charlie followed that career path back to the east coast where he would start a family and eventually become a principle and head of the geosciences department at Environmental Resource Management, Inc. (ERM,Inc.). The twilight of Charlie’s career saw him purchase and helm the company that would eventually become, Talon Drilling Company. “Talon” being a nod to his late mother Lucine Talanian. Until his dying day Charles held the importance of hard work as a core value. In the time that he wasn’t working, Charles enjoyed gardening, keeping tropical fish, investing, collecting coins, and visiting the places he held dear; mainly Nags Head, NC and the south western United States.

In addition to Helen, Charlie is survived by his son, Christopher Bandoian (Karin); nephew Randall Bandoian (Jenna), and grandnephew and grandniece Gavin and Lucy. Charles also leaves behind his sister-in-law Elise Pashigian and Brother-in-law Mechaal Anik.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, October 1st, 2020: 11:30 AM at the James J. Terry Funeral Home Tent 736 E. Lancaster Ave. Downingtown PA. 19335. A visitation will be held from 10:30 AM to 11:15 AM at the funeral home. All guests in attendance are asked to wear facial coverings and observe social distancing guidelines.
