Calvin (Cal) R. Wilder

March 22, 1932 ~ February 23, 2018 (age 85) 85 Years Old

Calvin Robert Wilder passed away February 23, 2018 after a long illness.
He was a proud Mainer born in Gardiner March 22, 1932 to Robert and Bertha Wilder who predeceased him.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Elizabeth " Betty" Egerton Wilder, son Robert Wilder (Jennifer) of Sanford, son Scott Wilder (Sabrina) of Wells, daughter Cheryl Wilder Krass of Exton, PA, grandsons Lucas Wilder and Alex Krass and granddaughters Savanah Wilder and Emily Krass.

Cal graduated from GHS in 1950, attended The Kennebec School of Commerce before serving in the U. S. Air Corps during the Korean conflict, stationed at Lake Charles, LA. He went on to work 35 years for the Internal Revenue Service in Augusta and Andover, MA. For 12 years after retirement Cal thoroughly enjoyed working 12 years at the Wells Auto Museum. He was an active member of the Masons, Ocean Lodge #142 of Wells. Retirement allowed for excursions with Betty to hunt for the perfect gem for their spaces at antique group shops and to explore the coast of Maine, finally reaching the farthest light house east in the U.S near Lubec. He enjoyed a fulfilling life, respected by many and will be missed.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Simpson Meadows Caring Friends Fund, 101 Plaza Drive, Downingtown, PA 19335. Simpson Meadows was his home for the past 9 years, shared with many friends of the same ilk.
