Barry "Lefty" Simes Sr.

Barry “Lefty” Simes, Sr., age 68, of Downingtown, PA, passed away on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at Lankenau Hospital.

Barry was born in Bryn Mawr, PA to the late Clifford J. Simes, Sr., and Anabelle (Wynn) Simes.

Barry was an intelligent man full of integrity, and worked in sales all his life, companies from mining to automobiles. Most recently he had worked at Krapf Busing as a Special Needs Monitor.

He was an avid fisherman.

Barry was a loving family man, and had the reputation of “wrestling alligators”. He had an outstanding stat of 30-1 in his wrestling matches.

In addition to his parents, Barry is preceded in death by 4 siblings; Clifford J. Simes Jr., Richard Simes, Cindy Diehl, and Betty Cockerham.

Barry was the devoted and loving husband to Robin H. Simes, whom together shared 27 years of marriage, 5 children; Barry Lee Jr. (Lisa), Todd Lee Simes Sr. (Christine Butterfield), Michele Eickhoff (Ryan Dempsey), Traci Iding (Stephen Lyon), Arthur G. Senn Jr. (Kendra), 1 sister Ann Rhoads, and 12 grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to Barry’s funeral services on Thursday, November 1, 11:30am, at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Avenue Downingtown, PA 19335, where family and friends will be received 10-11:15am. Interment is private.

A special thank you goes to all the doctors and nurses who assisted in Barry’s care at the Lankenau Medical Center.
