Barbara “Lynn” (Safford) Huff
Barbara “Lynn” Huff, age 70, of Exton, passed away at home surrounded by her family on Saturday, July 21, 2018.
Lynn was born in Bryn Mawr, PA to the late George C. and Florence (nee Thaete) Safford.
In 1966, Lynn graduated Marple Newtown High Schooland then attended West Virginia University where she met her future husband, Bob. She later obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from West Chester University and was a school teacher at Unionville-Chadds Ford Elementary School, prior to having her family. Lynn and Bob lived in London, England for 4 years, where their 1st child Christopher was born.
When her children were older, she later had an extensive retail career.
Lynn was an avid traveler in her later years, with her daughter Libby, going on adventures in Paris, Ireland, and Alaska.
Lynn enjoyed her many friends, neighborhood and girls group, with friends dating back to grade school. She loved being with her friends and family and celebrating the holidays. At Christmas, the house was decorated with her collection of unique one-of-a-kind Santa’s. She and Bob loved to spoil their cats and their home was warmlydecorated with artwork and family photos.
Lynn was a member of two elite groups – ELWOO and the “Table, Legs and Chairs” group from Marple Newtown High School. Lynn was affectionally known by many names – Bird, WWW and Mom-Mom.
Lynn is survived and will be missed by her husband Robert “Bob” – (aka Aunt Betty) whom together shared 48years of marriage, son Chris (Stacey), daughter Libby, brother George (Ruthie), grandchildren Charlie and Leah, and Sara Lynn, and many loving extended family members and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to Lynn’s funeral services on Thursday, July 26, 2018. Visitation will be held from 9AM-10:45AM, followed by a service at 11AM. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, a donation in Lynn’s name can be made to the Brandywine Valley SPCA, 1212 Phoenixville Pike, West Chester, PA 19380.
